Halo Wallet is a secure and easy crypto wallet that supports multi chain aggregation. To Guide users in the process of using our wallet, we’ll publish a series of tutorials.
You typed in the wrong address, or entered the wrong domain name, or accidentally chose to send tokens to a contract address. Everything is possible. If you’re reading this article, you may suspect that you’ve sent tokens to a wrong address.
What to do about sending tokens to a wrong address?
If the transaction is still pending, you can cancel the transaction. Or check the transaction history on the blockchain explorer. If you know the owner of the address, you could reach out to them and see if they’re willing to send it back to you.
What if you sent tokens to a contract address?
A contract address is a set of code that performs some function on the blockchain. It refers to the address location of the actual token contract that manages the logic for the tokens. It does not refer to the address that holds your own personal tokens.
If you accidentally sent tokens to a contract address, you could try to reach out to the team that makes the token or manages the project, and they may be able to get your tokens back to you. But, there is no guarantee that your tokens can be retrieved if you sent them to a contract address.
Why can’t Halo Wallet reverse the transaction?
Halo Wallet is a self-custodial wallet and don’t keep any of users’ data. Users have full control of their wallet and crypto assets. Transactions are irreversible once they are confirmed on the blockchain network. It’s impossible to reverse any transactions once final.
You are the only one who has access to manage your wallet. So we always remind users that never share your secret phrase with anyone or the person can control all your assets.
What if someone from Halo Wallet DMs you and claims to get your assets back?
Halo Wallet will NEVER DM you first either in Telegram or in Discord. If someone contacts you through DM and claims that they can get your assets back, they are most likely scammers and should be ignored. Always remember any on-chain transaction cannot be reversed.
Beware of scammers! Halo Wallet will never ask for your important information such as secret phrase.
